There are no Televisions in Design World

16 Nov

As a lover of all things design and therefore design shows, I do have one pet peeve. Whenever a designer makes-over a living space the first thing they eliminate is the television. This is so impractical and unrealistic, and leaves us people who live in the real world wondering “How can you stylishly incorporate your television into your design?”

Well there’s always the option to hide it inside a cabinet of some sort or to get one of those fancy (and $expensive$) art/mirror screens. But I found this on Apartment Therapy and thought it was a very stylish alternative!

I’ve also noticed this but it’s not at uncommon actually. I have a friend who moved out to CA a few years ago with her BF. They do not own a TV and they are perfectly content with that. But I do like the idea above!!

I envy people that can give up TV. But I suppose with everything being online now it’s way easier to do than, let’s say, a decade ago. Also flat screens have done wonders for TV’s in design as I touched on above. They’re so easy to hide or incorporate when they aren’t taking up a significant amount of space…
